In India, we have an estimated 4.6 million people with corneal blindness that is curable through corneal transplantation made possible by eye donation. The damaged whitish cornea should be replaced by a crystal like healthy cornea which has been donated by a healthy person. So eye-donation should be encouraged in a large scale, as one of the best means of social service. To enable another person obtain vision is one of the best forms of charity. More than 90% of the corneal transplantation is carried out successfully and helps restore vision in people with corneal blindness. क्या कोई राजनीतिक दल उन लाखो नेत्रहीनो के लिए कुछ करेगा जिनको नेत्रदान के द्वारा रोशनी प्रदान की जा सकती है, हजारो कार्निया जो किसी के जीवन की रोंशनी बन सकते है, सुपुर्द -ए -खाक कर दिए जाते है, क्या कोई राजनीतिक दल इसके लिए राजनीतिक इच्छा शक्ति दिखायेगा, क्या कोई राजनीतिक दल अपने एक एक कार्यकर्त्ता को स्वयं नेत्रदान करने के लिए प्रेरित करेगा, क्या इस पवित्र कार्य के लिए भी राजनीतिक कार्यकर्त्ता उतनी ही रूचि दिखायेंगे, क्या इसके लिए भी जागरण की जरुरत होगी, सड़क से संसद तक ... नेत्रहीनो का कोई वोट बैंक नहीं है ,उनके लिए तो बस "आई बैंक" है जिन्हें हम अपनी सामाजिक, आध्यात्मिक और राजनीतिक इच्छाशक्ति से भर सकते है, समस्या को हल्के ढंग से लेना भी समस्या में बढोतरी करना है "मेरी श्रद्धा से झुकी आंखे तेरा सजदा करेगी अगर तेरी ही चिता से तेरी आंखे नदारद होगी " |
